Planned Gifts & Legacy Giving
Planned giving & estate planning: A bequest can be made through your will and can result in tax
savings to your estate. In your will, you may designate a specific gift, a percentage of your estate
or the remainder after specific distributions are made. Your attorney can advise you on the many ways
to leave the Foundation a gift while saving your estate taxes, providing for a survivor, or both.
Endowments are gifts that keep on giving by using the income from assets to make ongoing
contributions to Bellingham Public Schools. We will work closely with you to plan and execute a major
gift to the Foundation that can make a dramatic difference to future generations of students.
